*~*Earth week Help save your WORLD*~*

April 18 - 25

Our Climate is always changing, But over the past few years Drastic changes to the climate have been happing rather too quickly. Scientists believe its because of Human activity. Our world is slowly getting worse because of what we do, and how we pollute it. This climate change affects mostly the poverty because they rely on the climate to make a living by framing and growing crops. Here are some ways to help:

  • Take short and clod showers

  • Use bicylces

  • Use public transport

  • By a water saver for your showers and taps

  • Eat more vegis and less protein's ( there gud 4 and the earth)

  • Switch off ligths when your not in the room

  • Switch off Ac when not necessary

  • By cars which use less feel or different gasses

Go and the net and help save the earth and look fro more tips. Try and save energy and not pollute and make the greenhouse layer thicker.

STOPPAGE OF FOOD SALES ON THE LCS CAMPUS:

The PTA and school board have unanimously decided to stop food sales in the LCS campus and though the outrage is heavy there are some pro's as well as cons to the decision..

PROS: (good)

* our campus will be CLEAN; no more icecream and popcorn packs everywhere

* Less fat and calories taken because the food was extremely fatty

* people can save their money!

* no more complaining about not getting change back from the ladies who sold the food

CONS: (bad)

*hunger after school

* lack of something to cool your mouth in the Ghana weather

* WHY did they stop ALL food sales? they could have kept WATER atleast

* especially bad for those who have extracurrilar activities like drama and basketball or soccer

SO...OVERALL, how do YOU feel about the stoppage of food sales? did the GOOD overshadow the BAD or vice versa?

The Pal Version of the PS3 is finally out!! It came out on the 23rd of March 2007. With graphics so good that some of out modern TVs can't handle it. The PS3 from Sony is the newest of the line. With improved graphics and a hard-drive of either 20GB or 60GB. It can store videos, music, and pictures. You can also play your own music while you play your own game. You can be playing in the intense senario of a war game while listening to a quiet and calm classical song. The controlers have also been uptadeted with a better handling and positioning of the L2 and R2 buttons. It uses Blu-ray to read discs better and faster, getting better graphics. ARTEMIS FOWL 7 IS OUT!!!

For all the adicted fans of the soo popular Artemis Fowl finally has a 7 book out. It is available in stores almost every where around the world where books are sold. It is also written in more than 3 different languages.
A Review on the Book:
Ten thousand years ago, humans and fairies fought a great battle for the magical island of Ireland. When it became clear to the fairy families that they could never win, they decided to move their civilization underground and keep themselves hidden from the humans. All the fairy families agreed on this, except the eighth family, the demons. The demons planned to lift their small island out of time until they had regrouped and were ready to wage war on the humans once more. However, the time spell went wrong, and the island of Hybras was catapulted into Limbo, where it has remained for ten thousand years. Now the tainted time spell is deteriorating and demons are being sucked back into the present space and time. The fairy council is concerned about this and is monitoring any materializations. But when the spell’s deterioration accelerates, the materializations become unpredictable. Even the fairy scientists cannot figure out where the next demon will pop up.But someone can. Artemis Fowl, teenage criminal mastermind, has solved temporal equations that no normal human should be intelligent enough to understand. So when a confused and frightened demon pops up in a Sicilian theater, Artemis Fowl is there to meet him. Unfortunately, he is not the only one. A second, mysterious party has also solved temporal equations, and has managed to abduct the demon before Artemis can secure him.Once again, Artemis will have to pair up with his old comrade, Captain Holly Short, to track down the missing demon and rescue him, before the time spell dissolves completely and the lost demon colony returns violently to Earth.

Dieting.

Right now EVERYBODY thinks their fat. Even the skinniest pin prick. I guess it's a part of life, it is UNDERSTANDABLE. However eating only, for example, lettuce leaves for breakfast, skipping lunch and eating lettuce leaves for dinner is NOT good for you.

SURE it'll help you get SKINNY but its not the kind of skinny you're aiming for. You want chic, sexy skinny but what you'll get is GAUNT, bony, hollow- eyed DEAD LOOKING skinny.

You want to look like GISELE BUNDCHEN, so does the rest of the world, but literally STARVING yourself is NOT the way to go. Eat BREAKFAST - cereal, have LUNCH - chicken salad and some bread and for DINNER- chicken noodles.

The POINT is not to STOP EATING, but to eat HEALTHY and balance your diet and your life.

Walk your DOG, jog down your street, DANCE. These are healthy, FUN ways to lose weight and look *FAB*.

Come on now. We're all starving to succeed but not LITERALLY..
XOX soccerGAL nafz
???How important is being popular to you???
The ninth grade helped carry out a survey on their views of popularity and this are the results:

1% - HELLO its my life
80% - dont really care but don't wanna be unpopular either
10% - couldn't care less

well, those are the results, make of them what you will. However i KNOW that a mojority of the class's LIFE depends on popularity, which is not a bad thing but ofcourse they wouldnt exactly say that ***

Audi Le Mans Quattro

The Audi Le Mans Quattro is not only beautiful in appearance, but it is also a monster on the racetrack. This vehicle has won 3 times the Le Mans 24-hour race, one of the most demanding races in automobile history. This race is the world's most famous automobile endurance race, which is held annually at Circuit de la Sarthe near Le Mans in France. This race, held annually in June is one for only the greatest. The Audi Le Mans Quattro is one of the greatest. Its aerodynamic curves help it cut throught the air and reach higher speeds. The car is 1.90m wide and only 4.37m long and 1.25m high. This supersport model is equiped with a V10 enine with its twin turbochargers: a technical sculpture that is visible from the inside of the car and also through a large, transparent rear flap. To the rear of the doors, between the sill and the roof, there is a large outward-curving air intake that supplies the V10 engine, the oil cooler, the charge-air intercooler and the brakes with sufficient air.
The aerodynamics of this car are obviously not only for looks, but for stability when at high speeds. When the Audi Le Mans Quattro is driven at a speed above 120km/h, the rear spoiler is extended automaticaly into the slipstream, to add to the 'negative lift' that keeps the car on the ground. The outer skin of the car and add-on parts are of mixed weight-saving construction using aluminium and carbon-fibre reinforced plastics. Due to the power this car has, it naturally has a four-wheel drive system. The Audi Le Mans Quattro is able to jump from a standstill to 100km/h in only 3.7 seconds. This car can reach speeds up to 345km/h. It reaches 200km/h within 10.8 seconds. Overall this is a physically apealing car and a very powerfull race car. This car is featured in Need for Speed Carbon.

Today the LCS Girls Varsity Team played against the GIS Girls Varsity team. The score...wait for it... GIS-5/LCS-47. Yes LCS won by 42 points... This is what I like to call "complete ownage". Weekend fun!! :D

Ninth grade fun *** <3

The weekend of March 16/17, was probably one of the most interesting the ninth grade had together!

On Friday was the movie night at Sasha house, were we watched a scary movie , The American haunting, and went crazy afterwords, and had a pebble Fight. And took loadz of random pix !

On Saturday some students had to wake up early to go to hfh were the helped build houses for the village they visited. It was Defiantly worth the CAS hours right?!

Also on Saturday, Alexia had a mini birthday party at Davids house were Love actually ( the best move ever) was aired, and karaoke by the famous Anna, and not so famous David, Sweet sixteen Alexia (mama G)

Also Clarissa and Sasha made some "anonymous" prank phone calls and David was one of their victims.

And last but definitely not least, Tilly, Logan and Lincoln, swam at Logan's house!

Lets c if this weekend can TOP that :)

FUN FUN FUN times!

Unfortunate Defeat

On Friday, the LCS Varsity Basketball B-Team played a game vs. a school....The first problem was that we didn't have our jerseys....therefore we had to play with bibs...how embarassing yes I know. We started by leading but then they came up. The game was tight untill the last second of play. At first we were dominating, but with a very tight lead. But later on the game started to turn and they got in the lead but only by one point. Eventually in the lasts minutes of play, the other team started to lead, and with the time not being stopped when it should have been, we ended up loosing with a final score of 20-24. It was a tight game and even thought we played well we still lost. Hopefully next time we will win. Well, good luck for us next time and this was an unfortunate defeat.

Tribute to the LCS HFH team.

Yesterday, which was a Saturday, there was an HFH trip to (unknown). People who went seemed to have a spectacular time. They went, they built, they helped, they were happy, This is the strategy of the LCS HFH team and their subordinates. With the help of the man who makes it all possible, Mr Donihue and Mr. Diabro and his HFH planning team, Richard, Kobena, Xi, and Eliza. We want to say thank you for what you have done and also we appreciate your hard work, we know that the people we go to also appreciate it very much and thank you. Thank you once again......^^

AFTER SKUL SALES STOPPAGE

CLEAN UR TRASH
In school, there are always sellers who spend their time selling Ice-cream and Tampico and other snacks. They usually come from 3:10-5:00pm. We are let out around 3:10pm and spend most of our time arund the Ice-cream sellers spot. When we buy, we usually don't want to touch the trash cans after we finish with our ice-creams and leave them on the ground. Peoples this has become a big issue and the ice-cream selling has been BANNED till further notice. Mr. Moscow knows about the bin issue and try his best to relocate or possibly bring back our old bins (by the way where did they vanish to?o_O)....... so the thing is we need to prove ourself worthy of ........throwing our trash away during lunch.......ALSO, there is something about the healthiness of the kind of food they are serving soo please start some Bake Sales and earn money since we are in this sort of time where we will all suffer if you don't. By By doing this, you are not only earning money for your class publicity but you are also helping all the LCS students (by the way, if you are asking why i wont make a bake sale myself, its because i bake poisonous snacks)

horoscopes

Horoscope

ARIES -:

Your Best Color: Bright red
Your Sign Sister: Jennifer Garner
Your Best Friend: Up-for-anything Sagittarius
Your Perfect Match: Adoring and romantic Libra

Someone close is going to say something so outrageous that you might be uncomfortable with them for the rest of the day. It's not like they're a terrible person, but they will definitely step over a line

Love :
You begin the week charging toward novelty (new people, new experiences) and perhaps even trying to be a bit manipulative -- and you succeed. Your flirting is irresistible and you're powerful and attractive, but don't let it go to your head. Try to stay grounded. By midweek, you have surmounted a challenge. You feel confident that you're in charge and that your partner -- or partners -- are following and supporting you. The weekend will be different, more frustrating and ambiguous. Slow down, be domestic and avoid making any big decisions. Rest up for the next big push.

Taurus:-
Your Best Color: Golden Brow
Your Sign Sister: Kirsten Dunst
Your Best Friend: Calculating Capricorn Your
Perfect Match: Sensual, yet strong-willed Scorpio
Even if you're not involved with anyone -- and even if you're not crushed out -- you'll still feel a little jealous today. It might involve a friend or a parent, but it will be pretty intense.
Love:
that glitters is not gold -- and that includes you (sometimes). Begin your week with a quiet, philosophical turn of mind. The best way to the heart of your romantic interest is to listen. Your potential cutie will respond, and you'll learn something surprising and valuable. By Wednesday, you feel sufficiently grounded to make good decisions. Plan a trip. Revisit what once seemed like a thorny problem. Your steadfastness may inspire others to act out and even try to get a rise out of you. Take solace in the people you can relax around -- good friends and your special someone

Gemini:-
Your Best Color: Silver
Your Sign Sister: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
Your Best Friend: Bright and fair Libra
Your Perfect Match: Adventurous, active Sagittarius
You're pretty much full of sass today -- so much so that you might get in trouble without even opening your mouth! The nice part is that you'll be able to resist any kind of pressure
Love:
Brace yourself for a thrilling and productive week. The roller-coaster ride begins quickly, with an exciting swoop downward then a slow grind to the top. Take advantage of this interlude to assess what you can gain from the next heart-pounding moment. When you reach the peak, think clearly and directly about what you want -- and go for it. Anything could happen in the tumult, but be confident that all will come out for the best. The weekend brings time for processing. Allow your mind to wander -- you may have an unexpected revelation.
Cancer -:
Your Best Color: Sea green
Your Sign Sister: Lindsay Lohan
Your Best Friend: Faithful-to-the-end Scorpio
Your Perfect Match: Predictable and protective Capricorn

Trust your instincts today -- they will guide you in the right direction. It might be that you need to put that one friend off for a bit until you get your bearings, or it could be that things are just great.
Love:
This week is a good time to dig into your inner reserves of strength. On Monday and Tuesday, you feel self-conscious and withdrawn -- trust these instincts and study those around you. You may be emotional while others seem aloof. Keep your cool and respond intellectually. Stay flexible. Pay attention. The weekend is for relaxation and reflection. Take a long walk and notice the details on tree limbs, the texture of the ground, the details on high corners of buildings. Use your powers of observation and intuition to explore solutions to problems that have seemed unsolvable.
Leo-:
Listen to your intuition, 'cause it's got a few messages you haven't picked up on yet. You'll be amazed at how clearly you can hear it today -- it's like you've got a direct connection.
Love:
Everyone and everything seems like a glowing mass of wonder, and that's as it should be. Seize the day, dazzle that special someone and fill the world with your bright, boundless energy. Give gifts. Be an inspiration. Help the people around you. By midweek, you may feel like those people are too dependent on your vitality and bogging you down. Be patient with friends and lovers, and if conversation fails, draw, photograph or write your way past the difficulty. Offer you-know-who something you've made: A picture or a poem is worth a thousand conversations
Virgo-:

Your Best Color: Forest green
Your Sign Sister: Beyonce
Your Best Friend: Solid Taurus
Your Perfect Match: Disorganized, yet visionary Pisces

You can see that your friends are all excited over something that isn't going to happen -- or at least not like they hope it will. It'll be hard for you to convince them they're mistaken, but you should try

Love :
Be flexible as you begin this week -- family or work obligations may foul your plans with a romantic interest, but go with the flow. Your hard work will pay off. Maybe you'll even meet someone significant through your job. On Wednesday, you wake up refreshed. Reorganize your home or your office -- and any dusty preconceptions about your romantic life. Pleasant surprises are waiting for you; you'll find them if you don't get stuck in vanity, details and pettiness. Look at the big picture, consider other people's opinions and remember that anything is possible.

Libra:
Your best Color: Pale pink
Your Sign Sister: Gwyneth Paltrow
Your Best Friend: Intriguing Aquarius
Your Perfect Match: Courageous Aries

You don't usually worry too much about money, but today you're going to find that you're feeling a little less secure in that department. It's a good time to think about making changes.

Love:
will be a week of ups and downs, but hang in there -- by the weekend, you'll be a key instrument in a swelling, orchestral harmony. Monday will be characterized by strong, idealistic feelings. Midweek may be a bit slow -- be careful of nostalgia or excessive sentimentality. By Thursday and Friday, you should be ready to connect with someone close to you. The weekend is ripe for finishing those projects you've been putting off, smelling the roses and helping others find harmony.
Scorpio:

Your Best Color: Black
Your Sign Sister: Eve
Your Best Friend: Equally intuitive Pisces
Your Perfect Match: Focused Taurus

You're feeling great today, and your strength will help you make it through any situation. Most likely the day's events will go well for you, though you may need to work hard to get them there.

Remember all those times you saw a romantic possibility that you really wanted but passed it over because you were afraid of regretting it later? Monday is your day to reject any thinking in that vein and take the plunge. On Tuesday and Wednesday, you let love take its natural course, and it feels great. It's a smooth, rewarding week for you, but something at home (a disagreement with a neighbor?) gives you a headache on Thursday or Friday. Thankfully, a getaway of some kind with someone very cute occupies your weekend.

Sagittarius-:

You have a much richer inner life than most people would imagine, and today you can see that there's even more to it than you had realized. Explore your inner nature for as long as you'd like.

Love:
Thursday, March 15You have a story worth telling; share it to inspire confidence in yourself and others. Those good feelings lead to increased robustness and self-reliance midweek. Make your own lunch, do for yourself and explore how you can do for others. On Thursday, talk with that special someone -- your powers of relating are at their height. Friday, however, is a day to keep your cards close to your chest. You might feel distracted, so be careful not to lose sight of your goals. Listen carefully. Other people's stories also have unexpected resonance in your own life.

Capricorn-:

Your Best Color: Gray
Your Sign Sister: Kate Bosworth
Your Best Friend: Down-to-earth Virgo
Your Perfect Match: Caring Cancer

Now is the time to step up and make that big decision that has been haunting you lately. You're firmer in your convictions than you may realize, and you'll be deeply satisfied with the results.

Love:
Start the week with a dose of sugar. As you've been told time and again, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Through Wednesday, everything should be coming up daisies, but keep your wits about you. Be wary of new schemes. Don't do anything radical, and let your conscience be your guide. The weekend is a good time to go with your instincts -- sing when you have the urge, dance when you feel like it. There's nothing like a burst of unfettered creativity to help add juice to your love life when you're feeling drained.

Aquarius-:

Your Best Color: Hot pink
Your Sign Sister: Alicia Keys
Your Best Friend: Laid-back Gemini
Your Perfect Match: Lovable Leo
You need to take all the time you can to think about where you're headed. You may be less certain than you were just a few days ago about what you really want, but you can figure it all out

Love:
On Monday, hug and kiss liberally. Lay it on really thick. You're in an affectionate mood at the outset of the week, but Tuesday and Wednesday are better for keeping your head down and not getting in any one's way. If life seems more tumultuous than usual, well, try to enjoy the ride. Thursday and Friday should bring refreshment: Share your new found vitality, and your loved ones (including that special loved one) will respond. Dream up a date for the weekend that draws heavily on your creative energy and lightly on your pocketbook

Pisces-:
Your Best Color: Pale violet
Your Sign Sister: Drew Barrymore
Your Best Friend: Sensitive Cancer
Your Perfect Match: Grounded Virgo
Deep down, you are going through a lot -- but most people can't see it. At least some (maybe all) of it is good, though, and when you pop out the other side, you'll get some serious respect.

You're unclear about exactly how to proceed with your love life on Monday, but there are helpful clues all around you. On Tuesday and Wednesday, let someone else take control for a change. Then imagine a team of bluebirds lifting cinder blocks off your shoulders. With this new unburdening, you can use the rest of the week to daydream. Imagine yourself someplace improbable and far away, somewhere exotic. This weekend, for head-clearing purposes, strike out on a more modest solo adventure. Whatever you do, treat yourself well.

VICTORIOUS!!!

WE ARE!! WE ARE!! WE ARE!! VI-VI-VI-VICTORIOUS!! Our Basketball Boys Varsity has won their game against Alpha Beta College. This game was well played by our boys. They started out playing extremely well, not allowing the other team to catch up at all. In the beginning our boys had a lead of about 15-20 points. But as the game went on, Alpha Beta College was catching up. But with the support of our overexited Girls Basketball Team, our boys managed to stay on top and win the game wit a score of 55-26. We are all very proud of you guys!! Keep it up!!
Also, the girls obviousely won their game,( as Esi would say "Of course!! We're just so jeh like that!!), although they played against little girls, which was a little unfair, and like Anne-Marie from 11th grade said, "no offense bt wat a waste of time". Nonetheless, we are all still proud of our two teams.

9th Grade Curl-up Record!!

On Wednesday March 14 2007, a new record was established. A record in curl-ups. Curl-ups as you all know or may not know, are like sit-ups, only with curl-ups you have to touch your ancles, and when you come back down touch only your shoulder bones...Well anyways, Chidi Ibe established a record of 73 curl-ups in 60 seconds ladies and gentlemen, yes 60 seconds. Only two curl-ups from a 10. I asked Chidi what pushed him to do this and he said that he had at first done 63, but deceived with his score he attempted them again, this time to do 10 more and end up with a score of 73 curl-ups. He said he pushed himself to his limit, because he knew he was capable of doing it, and now he is very proud of it, as everyone should be. He admited that after doing this his stomach was in pain but within a few minutes, it was better. Congratulations Chidi!! Nice job!
